At Everyone Can, we do everything we can to help people living with disabilities to control their home environment and communication with as much ease and independence as possible. For us, it all comes down to assistive technology, and our assistive technology workshops are where you can learn all about this technology and how to use it.

What is an Assistive Technology Workshop?

The assistive technology workshops with Everyone Can are our time to showcase how digital technology can transform the day-to-day lives of disabled people. Each assistive technology workshop is led by one of our very own eAT experts who many years’ experience with matching digital technology to help a vast range of disabilities.

During the workshop we will look at all types of technology including programmes for computers, phones and tablets. We will then go on to demonstrate how they work and how they can benefit you. We will then share some case studies that act as evidence in how assistive technology has positively impacted the independence and confidence of disabled people.

After this, you have the opportunity to ask all of your burning questions before trying out the technology for yourself!

Where Are the Assistive Technology Workshops Held?

At our technology and gaming centre in the heart of Sale, Manchester, we have a great all-accessible space where all of our equipment is ready to use. Unsurprisingly, this is the best place to hold our assistive technology workshops since we can easily show you the full range – and the full potential – of the assistive technology available to you.

Of course we know that coming to us can be really difficult for some people, so we can also pack up our bags (the van!) and deliver an assistive technology workshop at an external organisation or in a spot that is more convenient for you – just let us know and we will do everything we can to meet your needs.

Who Can Attend the Assistive Technology Workshops?

We have a thing about being super inclusive here. That means the Everyone Can assistive technology workshops are open to everyone!

If you have recently had an assistive technology assessment with you, you will probably be invited along to answer any questions you might have once your equipment has arrive or the software has been downloaded onto your device. It might also be that you are attending for an introduction to the type of digital technology that can really benefit your everyday tasks, or joining the workshop as a carer or support worker for a disabled person, or on behalf of a loved one.

It’s really easy – all you need to do is get in touch to let us know that you are interested. Our team will be able to tell you when the next workshop will be held and answer any questions you may have.
